“Perfect Pairings” Wine Dinner with special guest Eric Asimov, Wine Critic for The New York Times

On Wednesday, February, 28, Mimosa Grill was proud to present a unique wine event called “Perfect Pairings,” featuring special guest, Eric Asimov, wine critic of The New York Times.  Mr. Asimov is well-known for a column he pens each month called “Wine School” which showcases various wines and invites readers to taste and comment on the selections.

Members of the Burke Hospitality Group team have followed Mr. Asimov’s column for several years, tasting and pairing different vintages and cuisine to come up with a “best of the best” menu that was served at the “Perfect Pairings” wine dinner.  Mimosa Grill’s Executive Chef Thomas Marlow, BHG Corporate Chef Scott Wallen and Harper’s Charlotte Chef Sean Anderson all participated in bringing this wine and food event together. 

A group of 40 wine enthusiasts attended the dinner and interacted with Mr. Asimov, who shared his insight and vast knowledge about the wines poured. Guests chose the “German Leitz Dry Riesling and Panang Beef Curry” as the most “Perfect Paring” of the evening.  Mr. Asimov, who was traveling to the Charleston Food & Wine event via Charlotte, said he looks forward to returning for more wine events with Burke Hospitality Group.
